You know how love isn't always easy, sometimes it goes with the natural flow and sometimes there are obstacles. Some of the love films hitting cinemas this summer deal with such things.

If you prefer love heat and stormy passion mixed with sexy dancing and sinfully hot bodies, there's the new part to the famous STEP UP saga coming out July 27th! This time, it sets the dancing against the vibrant backdrop of Miami. Emily (Kathryn McCormick) arrives in Miami with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer and soon falls in love with Sean (Ryan Guzman), a young man who leads a dance crew in elaborate, cutting-edge flash mobs, called “The Mob.” When a wealthy business man threatens to develop The Mob's historic neighborhood and displace
thousands of people, Emily must band together with Sean and The Mob to turn their performance art into protest art, and risk losing their dreams to fight for a greater cause. I must admit I'm really in love with the trailer!

Opening in cinemas July 27th FALLING OVERNIGHT tells the story
of twenty-two year old Elliot Carson on the day before he has surgery to remove a brain tumor. Facing what could be his last night, Elliot's path intersects with Chloe Webb, a young photographer who invites him to her art show. Elliot welcomes the distraction and as the night descends, Chloe takes him on an intimate and exhilarating journey through the city. But as morning approaches, and Chloe learns of Elliot's condition, the magic of the evening unravels, and they must together face the uncertainty of Elliot's future.

Opening July 6th in cinemas in USA is CRAZY EYES love comedy about Zach (Lukas Haas) who, with too much money and time on his
hands, looks like he's living the dream. There's a steady stream of beautiful women and the party never ends. He meets a girl he calls Crazy Eyes (Madeline Zima), and she's unlike anyone he's ever met before. She's the one woman Zach can't have, so naturally he wants her. While Zach's hard-partying lifestyle threatens to go off the rails, family concerns begin to play a major role in Zach's life. Will the quest for love and the responsibilities of family life help this poor little rich boy become a man?
Love drama with a touching and disturbing twist when adultery ruins
the family and marriage will be see in TAKE THIS WALTZ which finally comes to cinemas July 6th with Michelle Williams, Luke Kirby and Seth Rogen in the lead roles. The film centers around Margot, a 28 year old freelance writer who lives in a charming house on a leafy street in the Little Portugal section of Toronto, as she struggles with and examines her feelings for Lou, her husband of five years, while exploring a new relationship with Daniel, an artist and rickshaw driver who lives across the street. This is the second full length film directed by Sarah Polley.

The only trailer I got for you today is a very unusual one: it is for magnificent and enchanting CIRQUE DU SOLEIL WORLDS AWAY 3D an extremely imaginative stage show which will hit cinemas this December in the form of the film. Produced by James Cameron and directed by Andrew Adamson (THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA) this 3D film event features artistic and acrobatic performances from some of the most elaborate Cirque du Soleil productions. Check out the breathtaking clip bellow.

Yet another comic book we shall see adapted onto the big screen, according to "MovieWeb" is Bluewater's  TOM CORBETT: SPACE
CADET. The graphic novel follows young Tom who is juggling schoolwork, cadet training and saving the world while experiencing the adventure of his life every other day. But this is not the only of Bluewaters graphic novels to hit film, since INSANE JANE will get adapted too. Take youthful energy. Add in some over-active imagination. Mix in some powdered donuts. Sprinkle it with delusional disorder and you get ... Insane Jane! The kookiest action hero of the 21st century. Will Jane save the day? Will Jane destroy the world? Will she remember to take her medication?

When it comes to superhero news, those seem to arrive on a daily basis lately. First, it seems that the mysterious date of May 16th, 2014, which Marvel has reserved for a premiere of one of their future film
adaptations has been left forGUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY after all. According to "The Hollywood Reporter" the film could be connected to AVENGERS 2 in the way that the sequel to this years major blockbuster will be announced in the story of the GUARDIANS which follows a group of aliens who take refuge on Earth and have to defend the planet against another alien race known as the Badoom. Meanwhile, Disney is preparing another Marvel comic book film adaptation but this time in animated version: they will make BIG HERO 6 into an animated flick. The film will include a bunch of heroes including Silver Samurai, Sunfire, GoGo Tomago, Honey Lemon, Hiro Takachiho and Baymax, who were brought together by the Japanese government to do their bidding.

The between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate. John Cho is also in the cast.

We're having a trailer day today at HOLLYWOOD SPY since I have a bunch of new clips to show you. The first one is for a futuristic comedy drama ROBOT AND FRANK which will hit cinemas later this August. Set in the near
future, the film followsFrank, a retired cat burglar, has two grown kids who are concerned he can no longer live alone. They are tempted to place him in a nursing home until Frank's son chooses a different option: against the old man's wishes, he buys Frank a walking, talking humanoid robot programmed to improve his physical and mental health. What follows is an often hilarious and somewhat heartbreaking story about finding friends and family in the most unexpected places. The cast is lead by Frank Langella, James Marsden, Susan Sarandon and Liv Tyler.
The second trailer is for Disney's animated movie WRECK-IT RALPH. Hitting cinemas this November it follows Wreck-It Ralph who longs to be as beloved as his game's perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix.
Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes... so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun, Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness.
He sneaks into the game with a simple plan—win a medal—but soon wrecks everything, and accidently unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Ralph's only hope? Vanellope von Schweetz, a young troublemaking "glitch" from a candy-coated cart
racing game who might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy. But will he realize he is good enough to become a hero before it's "Game Over" for the entire arcade?

The third trailer today is for comedy film HERE COMES THE BOOM which will premier this October. The warm comedy stars TV actor , Kevin James who portrays a high school biology teacher who

moonlights as a mixed-martial arts fighter in an effort to raise money to save the school’s music program. James is joined by Salma Hayek in the cast.

And the last trailer for today is the one for action comedy HIT AND RUN. Uniting Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard again after WHEN IN
ROME, the film follows Charlie Bronson, a getaway driver who joins the Witness Protection Program and sets off for Los Angeles with his girlfriend (Kristen Bell). The road trip doesn't go as smoothly as planned, as they're chased by a federal officer (Tom Arnold) and the leader of Charlie's old criminal gang (Bradley Cooper). The trailer is age restricted since it features some really shocking, and I'd say unnecessary, scenes, you will see it yourself :) This one hits cinemas this August. Michael Rosenbaum and Bo Bridges are also in the cast.

BBC has announced a stellar cast for their mini series adaptation of William Boyd's RESTLESS. Hayley Atwell (Pillars of the Earth, Captain America), Rufus Sewell (Pillars Of The Earth, Zen),
Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey, Anna Karenina), Michael Gambon (Page Eight, Luck) and Charlotte Rampling (Melancholia, The Eye Of The Storm) will all star in the story of Ruth Gilmartin (Michelle Dockery) whose mother (Charlotte Rampling), one day in 1976, suddenly tells her she has been living a double life. She is not respectable Sally Gilmartin but in fact Eva Delectorskaya, a spy for the British Secret Service who has been on the run for 30 years. Eva’s story begins in Paris in 1939. Eva (Hayley Attwell), a beautiful Russian émigrée, is recruited for the British Secret Service by Lucas Romer (Rufus
Sewell), a mysteriously alluring Englishman. As  Romer trains Eva to become the perfect spy their love affair begins. When a crucial mission collapses in the USA and Eva finds herself in terrible, fatal jeopardy she
knows she has no option but to run and hide - forever. Once a spy always a spy. No-one can be trusted. But now Sally Gilmartin yearns to end her years of restless watching and waiting. Thirty years on, the only man who can bring this about is her former lover and spymaster, Lucas Romer, now Baron Mansfield of Hampton Cleeve (Michael Gambon), and the only person she can call on for help is her daughter, Ruth. The final chapter of this epic story of love, duplicity and betrayal is about to end – and who will pay the greatest price remains to be discovered.

Yet another star to join upcoming romantic comedy THEY CAME TOGETHER, is Christopher Meloni from TRUE BLOOD, although I bet most of you love to remember him most from legendary prison show OZ in which he loved to present his utterly full naked self all the time :) As I've reported before, the film will see Paul Rudd as corporate businessman whose company threatens to shut down a small shop owned by a girl whom he will get in love. Meloni will play Rudd's boss. Cobie Smulders from HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, who also appeared recently in record breaking AVENGERS, will play Rudd's girlfriend. Smulders will also join Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough in another romantic flick - SAFE HAVEN, a film adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel.

And here's a beautiful clip for you today: the first trailer for 20th Century Fox new animated film EPIC which comes to cinemas May 2013. This 3D CGI adventure will tell the story of a teenage girl who
finds herself magically transported into a secret world, where she must band together with a rag-tag team of characters to save their world - and the real world. Coming from Chris Wedge the amazing author of ICE AGE and RIO, the film will feature a rather stunning voice cast which
will be filled with music stars including Beyoncé Knowles as Queen Tara, Colin Farrell as Ronin, Josh Hutcherson as Nod, Amanda
Seyfried as Mary Katherine,  Johnny Knoxville as Mandrake, Aziz Ansari as Mub, rap star Pitbull as Bufo, Jason Sudeikis as Bomba and Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler as Nim Galuu.

One of the young actors we find very interesting due to his radiant charisma is young Caleb Landry Jones whom you mostly know by his
role of Banshee in X-MEN FIRST CLASS. According to "Deadline" he will now take the lead role in sf film BROKEN DREAM which is described as a love story set in a futuristic world. It is interesting that famous director John Boorman (EXCALIBUR, BEYOND RANGOON) has been planning to do this project for decades and he apparently spent 20 years looking for the right male lead, after River Phoenix, whom the role was dedicated in the first place, died. John Hurt will play the father of Caleb's character.  Caleb seems to be choosing very unusual projects, since other two of his future projects  ANTIVIRAL and BYZANTIUM also have interestingly weird plots. Bellow you have a very strange clip from ANTIVIRAL.

Well, here's something that sounds cute: the first poster for PADDINGTON film which should come out in 2014. The mix of CGI and life action will be based on Michael Bond's popular British
children's book series from the late 1950s that centered on an immigrant bear from Peru who gets adopted by the English Brown family and is given the name Paddington Brown. As you can see on the poster, one of the producers of the film had worked on HARRY PLOPPER saga as well. Meanwhile Warner Bros. has acquired TEMPLE OF HEAVEN an action adventure project which will have elements of ancient Chinese culture and mythology weaved into it. And good news is that Pixar's amazing animated epic BRAVE has conquered the world this weekend earning amazing $150 million worldwide!

And your trailer for today is for a lovely Asian visual treat - new dramatic epic SACRIFICE out this July in USA: A story of epic revenge, SACRIFICE, written and directed by Chen Kaige, focuses
on a power hungry general who wipes out his rival along with his entire family, save for one newborn. The infant is protected by the doctor who delivered him and raises him as his own, hoping to mold him into
his own instrument of retribution. SACRIFICE stars Ge You (from legendary FAREWELL MY CONCUMBINE) and Wang Xue Qi (FOREVER ENTHRALLED). It is based on "Orphan of Zhao" by Ji
Jun-Xiang and is set during the Yuan Dynasty. It is the first Chinese play known in Europe between the 8th and 5th Century B.C., also known as the Spring and Autumn period in China's history.

Best Photo-Editing iPhone Apps

This is a blog entry that a lot of people have requested from me!!

I've already done at part 1 here, but yet with every photo I post people keep asking what apps I used to edit them. And to be honest newer and better apps have popped up so I've changed all my favourites!!

As I mentioned in my previous entry about photo editing on the iPhone, I am a photography app junkie. I actually enjoy shopping for apps and I don't mind paying money for them at all. 99c is such a reasonable amount to pay compared to the thousands needed for photoshop, think about it. I support programs that are made affordable to the mass market, so I pay! It's a principle! If they make programs reasonably priced, people will pay instead of pirating.

Also, I actually regularly go into the "newly released" section in the photography category just to try out new apps. Isn't that crazy? I actually wasted quite a lot of money buying and testing out shitty apps. :X

But it is all worth it because iPhonography is my passion!!

And tadah, here is my updated list of the best photo-editing apps, 2012:

LOL at my self obsessed background

Mei Tu Xiu Xiu (red icon with chinese words) used to be my favourite but now I rarely ever use it anymore.

I've also retained in my list Makeover and Princess Cam, so you can read my review about them here. Princess cam I also rarely use now but I still regularly use Makeover because it is SO EASY to liquify my face with that app, although it isn't very precise or perfect.

So let's start from the top with...

This app costs money but imho it is the BEST purikura app there is!!

There are many purikura apps available but none of them have stamps or borders as gorgeous as Rakuga. You actually get the standard collection free but the rest you have to pay. I actually paid for every single collection and I'd say that the best one is the collage collection and standard. The blog one is not bad either for bloggers but skip the heart and ribbon, they are quite meh.

I love how the collage collection has these lace stamps! You can also use their "pen" tool to draw on your pictures, or use one-touch for a nice frame.

Here's a picture of Igloo I randomly edited with Rakuga... I did this in 1 min but if you put in effort you can make it very, very pretty.

Photo Wonder

Photo Wonder is one of my new favourites... They have lovely filters!! I love this one called "Autumn".

But my favourite is called "Sweety". Sweety makes the saturation of the picture very high but I LOVE to use it in combination with one of Camera360's filters to create this effect:

The photos end up look super pink and romantic... I will talk more about this later!

There is also a "beautify" section in Photo Wonder but I don't think much of it. The effects are not precise and tend to be overdone. Only "remove acne" is good for blurring away a zit.

Oh and one more thing I love about this app? You can sharpen your photos to whatever degree you want, which is really handy!

Mei Ren Xiang Ji (美人相机 Beauty Camera)

Beauty Camera is another app from China that is AWESOME! Photo Wonder is also btw. Thank you BFF for introducing this!

Why I love Beauty Camera is because... THEIR LIQUIFY IS THE BEST THERE CAN BE ON THE IPHONE.

They somehow worked out a system that makes liquifying on the iPhone's little screen extremely precise. It takes a bit more effort but if you are a perfectionist like me you will love it!

I have translated some of the text for my non-chinese readers. (IKR I AM SO NICE)

Once you go into the app you can choose to snap a picture or pick an existing one. What I don't like is that the app immediately makes your photo extremely fair and blurry, which is so unrealistic.

Fortunately, you can choose to reverse this by making the "skin" and "fairness" level to your own preference.

Next, click on the green heart.

You will be given 5 options. I love the liquifying obviously. The makeup part is good too, you can put on blusher and eyelashes and contacts!

This is how the liquifying looks like. It is a bit confusing but basically you place the green circle at where you want to push and you touch the arrows! For example, it is currently placed at my nose to make it smaller. Make sure your tab is under "slimming" or the "big eyes" option will just make your photo bloat.

You can also pick the "hand movement" to be off but I feel that makes it less precise.

That green circle the arrow is pointing at lets you adjust the size of the liquifying brush and where it goes. For example, it is now set to a bigger brush size so I can push my jaw smaller!

Tadah! This is the before and after.

I cannot believe I gave Camera360 a miss in my previous post. At that time I didn't like it because it forces me to snap a photo within the app. Then one day Audrey blogged about this app and I decided to give it a try again.

Now it is probably my favourite app of this lot.

Called "Light Color: Sweet"

This is just a screenshot of the camera lens focusing on my desk and the filter made it look so freaking gorgeous!! This filter is magic!!

These are photos taken with Camera360... NO EDITING AT ALL, not even liquifying. It creates this ultra dreamy pastel vibe which I love. Plus, you can edit the DEGREE to which you want the filter, so you can make it less dreamy if you want.

Oh and I also discovered you can edit existing pictures so you don't HAVE to snap a photo within the app!! OH JOY!!

Only con is that it is a bit troublesome to do that.

As I mentioned I love to layer Photo Wonder's "Sweety" on top of "Sweet". I guess it makes my photos ultra sweet hahahaha

Camera360 has many other filters, and a lot of them are gorgeous. Go explore!

Lumie lets you put bokeh on your photos...

I like the huge selection of bokeh, but I hate it that they don't allow you to tweak the transparency on the bokeh, so a lot of the times it covers your face or is too opaque.

The cosmos range is pretty!

Not bad, huh?

Line Camera

What I like about Line Camera is that it has many super expressive stamps!

Also many cute accessories:

The filters are not bad either (nothing compared to camera360 or Photo wonder) and you can also add text and frames.

Like Lumie, Lenslight lets you add bokeh and various light effects to your photos.

This is the app most people have asked me about... HOW DO YOU ADD A RAINBOW TO YOUR PIC??

With lenslight.

In fact, there are several rainbow variations to choose from, but the best imho is spectrum halo.

Rainbow on top of Igloo!!

Only bad thing is that the interface is so damn ugly. :X I hate black backgrounds.

Of all the framing apps my favourite is Diptic.

Diptic is one of the rare ones that allow you to pick not only a stupid square format, which I need because to post photos to my Photo of the Moment I need the photo to be 4:3 in ratio.

You can also apply some filters to your photos, although they are quite basic.

I also love that you can make the border any size and colour you want and make all the corners rounded!

It is also very easy to use.

Picfx also provides filters and light effects on your pictures.

I don't think much of their filters but their "Light Set" is nice, for bokehs!

They have two heart bokehs which I love! The hearts are rainbow coloured and you can see that you can rotate the bokeh so it doesn't cover the bits you don't want covered, and also you can adjust the transparency!

No need to write much about this. I just use this app to post 3:4 long pictures to instagram. This creates a white background for you and is very easy to use. Another popular variation is squareready.

That's it for the apps... Here are some before and after pictures!!

After Beauty Camera's liquifying (also note how it turned a little bluer)

 After Camera360 in Sweet

After Photo Wonder in Sweety, Rakuga cute, and Lenslight.

After Makeover for liquifying, Rakuga cute for purikura (to cover ugly toilet door) and using Camera360 over the whole picture so that the purikura also looks so pastel and pretty!!

Phew, spent a long time doing this entry, hope you guys like it! :)

Trying to reinstate my comments to the blogger one, once it's up please share your favourite apps too! :D
