HOLLYWOOD SPY's favourite Lee Pace has  officially confirmed to MTV that he is auditioning today in front of the Marvel Studios executives for the role of Peter Quill or the Star-lord in superhero adventure GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. I've reported before that Eddie Redmayne, James Marsden, Joel Edgerton, Jim Sturgess and Sullivan Stapleton are also in the run to audition for the most coveted role in the future Hollywood projects. This is the role of a former NASA astronaut who comes to learn that his father is an alien, which leads him into outer space. Armed

with a sentient ship and a suit that enhances his strength, Quill eventually transforms himself into the Star-Lord. The film is scheduled for August 2014! As you know Lee Pace, whom you've seen in visual delight THE FALL and in PUSHING DAISIES, is playing Elven king Thranduil the father of Legolas in THE HOBBIT. If I remember correctly some time ago he was also one of the main candidates for the Superman role which later on went to Henrylicious Cavill. He also played recently in LINCOLN.
